Airlines Beginning to Resume Services in Florence Affected Area

Airlines are beginning to resume services in the areas of North and South Caroline affected by Hurricane Florence

Florence has caused chaos across the Carolinas in the past week, with major damage, flooding, injuries and deaths.

More than 3,000 flights were cancelled because of the catastrophic flooding and damage, despite Hurricane Florence being downgraded to a tropical storm when it made landfall.

The destruction is expected to increase as floodwaters rise and homes are cut off from power and transport.

However, many airports are beginning to re-open in the area with airlines such as United, American and Delta beginning to resume their usual flight schedule.

But there still be some cancellations. United Airlines tweeted they were “resuming normal operations at all stations” excluding Myrtle Beach and Wilmington.

Delta also announced flights have resumed to some Carolina cities. However a number of airports such as Wilmington, Jacksonville and New Bern say they still face challenges although they are hopeful they will restart flight routes soon.
