It has been revealed that Aer Lingus’ CEO Lynne Embleton was awarded close to £250,000 in shares as the Irish Airline Pilot’s Association strike rages on

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus and the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association (Ialpa), are preparing for a fourth session at the Labour Court in a bid to end the row over pay.

A statement from IAG showed that Ms Embleton received 149,271 shares in London-listed IAG worth £244,580 on 26th June.

The notice shows that she received shares along with the chief executives of other IAG airlines, including Sean Doyle, who heads British Airways, under a group share awards scheme.

Other beneficiaries included Marco Sansavini, Chief Executive of Iberia and Carolina Martinoli, head of Vueling.

In a statement, Aer Lingus said: “These awards form part of IAG’s overall executive remuneration mechanisms and are in line with market practice.”
