TITANIC Belfast has been recognised on a global stage as the world-leading visitor attraction accepted the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement – Visitor Experience Re-envisioned

TITANIC Belfast has been recognised on a global stage as the world-leading visitor attraction accepted the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement – Visitor Experience Re-envisioned: Limited Budget in Hollywood.

The THEA Awards, organised by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), recognise achievement, talent and personal excellence from those who bring incredible experiences to life for people around the world.

In addition to this prestigious accolade, Judith Owens MBE, Chief Executive of Titanic Belfast was a keynote speaker at the signature conference event, which was attended by international themed entertainment professionals and industry leaders. Judith had the opportunity to share the story of the reimagined Titanic Experience which opened in 2023 following a multi-million-pound refreshment programme.

“We are delighted to be the only winner to have ever won twice for the same experience reimagined in the 30-year history of the THEA Awards. This and the fact that I was invited to address the world’s leading creators, developers, designers and producers from experiences from around the world, including Walt Disney Imagineering, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and Universal Creative, demonstrates the fact that Titanic Belfast is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s biggest and best attractions,” said Judith Owens MBE.

“It was a very proud moment to be able to stand on a global stage, in front of some of the biggest names in the attractions industry across the world and share the story of the reimagined Titanic Experience which was five years in the making from conception to delivery. We confidently showcased how we delivered a world-class project that will not only sustain Titanic Belfast into the future, but continue to play a key role in Northern Ireland’s tourism industry,” Judith continued.

The reimagined Titanic Experience opened in 2023 following a £4.7m investment which was fully funded from the Titanic Belfast Gallery Refreshment Fund, established when the building was opened as part of the commercial operator agreement and held by charity owner Maritime Belfast Trust.
