A New Vision for Haven

Leading UK holiday park operator, Haven, has announced that it will be investing nearly £100m across multiple sites in England, Scotland and Wales over the winter period

Part of this investment includes trialling innovative new concepts for holidaymakers and holiday home owners as part of a wider plan to create a vision for Haven of the future.

Haven, which welcomed over 2.9m holidaymakers to the Great British coast in 2018, has selected five holiday parks across England, Scotland and Wales to trial these new concepts. Hafan y Môr (Pwllheli), Craig Tara (Ayr), Haggerston Castle (Beal) and Hopton & Seashore (Great Yarmouth) have plans to open all developments in spring/summer 2019.

Haven will be investing in expanding its outdoor and indoor activity offering over the coming months, including an all-action adventure village at Hafan y Môr, known as the ‘Dragon Lakes Adventure Village’, which includes junior segways and segway adventures, mini 4×4 driving experience, climbing wall, aerial adventure courses and much more. Craig Tara, in Ayr, will be renovating a new area of the park to create a state-of-the-art ‘ultimate indoor activity area’. Known as the ‘Lighthouse Harbour Adventure Village’, it will host multiple climbing walls, interactive play areas and an indoor events arena.

Seashore Holiday Park will be renovating its current pool complex to introduce a brand-new water park concept known as ‘The Shore Water Park’. The multi-million-pound leisure facility will include a flume tower; an aqua play area with giant tipping buckets, spray jets and slides; a water confidence toddlers pool; as well as a 1.2m deep lanes and activities pool.

For families with younger children, Haven is also introducing a ‘Play Village’ at Craig Tara focusing on fun confidence-building experiences, whatever the weather. Little ones can try their hand at becoming a little chef, hop aboard and take the helm of an RNLI lifeboat, fill up their baskets in the tot-friendly shop, or let their hair down on stage.

Haven will also look to revolutionise the on-site dining experience by introducing ‘The Coast House’ at Hafan y Môr and Seashore. These new developments, which bring together multiple dining options under one roof, will present brand new concepts, from a fantastic new coffee and cake offer, to ‘The Pizza Deck’, which will make finding the perfect dish a breeze.

To top it all off, Haven will trial indoor spaces that bring a fresh new look and feel. Hopton Holiday Village will be opening a state-of-the-art entertainment arena called ‘The Marina Lounge’. The multi-functional and flexible space can transform from a spectacular events venue to an intimate live music bar. Haggerston Castle Holiday Park will be renovating its main complex to introduce a brand new ‘Garden Atrium’, which takes inspiration from the Eden Project roof and is designed to bring the outdoors, indoors.

Gerard Tempest, Guest and Proposition Director at Haven, comments: “Over the last couple of years, we’ve focused heavily on understanding what our guests want to see from the Haven experience of the future and how we can bring this to life across all our parks. We’re now ready to take all these learnings into test and are busy developing new guest facilities.

“For 2019, Haven will trial dynamic and innovative new concepts across five holiday parks for our holidaymakers and holiday home owners to experience. These developments range from a huge all-action adventure village in Wales to a fun-filled water park in Norfolk, not forgetting the ultimate indoor activity area in Scotland,’ said Tempest. ‘This is the start of our journey to trial what Haven of the future looks like and ensures that we continue to give all our guests the best possible experience every time they stay with us.”
