Titanic Belfast is holding emergency talks with workers representatives today after the company announced that it would have to cut 75 jobs at the popular tourist attraction, due to the adverse effects of COVID-19.

The attraction was forced to close on March 18 after the coronavirus lockdown was imposed. It is due to reopen on August 1 with strict social distancing measures in place.

In meetings with bosses today, representatives for the workers are said to be asking the management why the Government’s furlough scheme is not being extended for staff.
