Things You Need to Know About Champions League Final City Kiev

Many local Liverpool football fans will be googling the city of Kiev and ways to get there for the European Champions League final on May 26, following last night's dramatic semifinal win over Roma

But they could get a lot of very useful basic information about the capital of the Ukraine and what it offers by reading Brian Ogle’s recent feature on the city HERE.

To get to Kiev from the UK, flying is really the only sensible option, at least from this side of the Irish Sea. Going overland means crossing a number of borders, and negotiating some of these, particularly entering Ukraine, even by rail, can be slow and time consuming at the very least.

Turkish Airlines operates daily services to Kiev via Istanbul from Dublin while British Airways and Ukraine Airlines (UIA) fly direct to Kiev from London. There are of course many other airline options flying out of Dublin via other major European cities, or indeed through London.

Fares at the moment range from between £300 and £600 return, but of course will already be on the way up after the result of last night’s match. The problem will not be the price as much as the availability of seats on scheduled services.
