The World’s Most Instagrammed Forests Revealed

To celebrate all that is naturally beautiful in the world, OnBuy’s Garden Furniture Department sought to find out which forests are the most Instagrammed

OnBuy’s Garden Furniture Department found that Sequoia National Forest in California (United States) is the most Instagrammed forest in the world with an astonishing 540,291 hashtags. This magnificent forest is 1,193,315 acres – the equivalent to 678,019 football (soccer) pitches! Sequoia Forest also contains over 2,500 miles (4,000 km) of road and 850 miles (1,370 km) of trails.

In second position is Olympic National Forest in Washington (United States) with 494,713 hashtags. The forest has the credential of having over 3,000 miles of rivers/streams and home to approximately 300 bird species.

Amazon Rainforest is in third place as the Latin American wonder has 230,348 hashtags on Instagram. The Amazon rainforest is estimated to have 16,000 tree species and is home to 2.5 million insect species.

The highest-ranking forest from Europe is Sherwood Forest. Located in Nottingham (United Kingdom) and made famous by the legendary tales of Robin Hood, Sherwood forest has a sizable 144,821 Instagram hashtags. Interestingly, the Forest attracts nearly 350,000 merry men and women per year.

Arashiyama/Sagano Bamboo Forest (82,214 hashtags), Daintree Rainforest (73,904 hashtags), Mossy Forest (69,946 hashtags) and Jiuzhaigou Valley (51,271 hashtags) are among the other forests in the world with over 50,000 hashtags, respectively ranking fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth.

On the other end in 20th spot is Cevennes National Park in Florac (France) with 6,786 hashtags. The French forest is 231,538 acres and has approximately 1,700 flowering plants.

Slightly above Cevennes National Park in 19th place is Redwood National Park in California (United States) with 10,283 hashtags. The forest has pop culture significance as it was used as a filming location for Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park 2. Additionally, many trees in the forest soar more than 370 feet into the sky – equivalent to the height of One World Trade Center in New York.
