Becoming a chef has been Takayuki’s dream job since he was a boy. Takayuki has worked in The Capitol Hotel Tokyu for 13 years as the professional Chinese cuisine chef at the Chinese restaurant Hoshigaoka. Hoshigaoka, meaning “star hill” in Japanese, serves a delicate classic Chinese cuisine and is one of the signature restaurants in The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. Since their guests have experienced high quality cuisine before, it’s not that easy to be complimented on his artistic dishes, therefore that’s the motivation of his work and what he prides himself on.

  1.  Bazoku – Asakusa – Located in the heart of east Tokyo, Asakusa, Bazoku welcomes you with the live performances of making noodles in front of you. After getting orders from customers, they start making the noodles to serve the best and freshest quality dishes every time. The noodles are very soft and springy, along with the original dandan soup which are the two best matched dishes and worth trying if you visit Asakusa. Following their loyal customers, the signature dumpling is also highly recommended at Bazoku as the dumpling skin is as thick and springy as the original noodle, which you can enjoy with the juicy beef soup in the dumpling.
  2. Mazulu Lanzhou Beef Noodles – Jinbo-cho – There are numerous lamian noodle shops in China, however, Mazulu is the only one brand which is certified as a “China time-honoured Brand”. Mazulu has been known well as the most famous Lanzhou Beef lamian brand which has been in business for over a hundred years with 50,000 shops in China, and the shop in Jinbo-cho is the first in Japan. Their handmade noodles are Halal, Takayuki believes that the dishes can be enjoyed by people of every age and every preference.
  3. Tang Dynasty Toshomen – Akasaka Mitsuke – A five minutes walk from The Capitol Hotel Tokyu is Tang Dynasty Toshomen, a restaurant located at the Tokyu Plaza Akasaka. With the concept “Eat the city of gourmet foods, Xi’an, in Japan”, this shop specialises in Xi’an cuisine. Takayuki recommends the signature menu of Mahler knife-cut noodles which is created by the well skilled chefs, as the level of spice is perfect and one that you cannot find anywhere else.
