Taking a seedlist of some of the most populated cities around the world, the team ranked them on their sunshine credentials to discover which are the best spots to catch some rays.
The team considered various factors when ranking each city, such as the average number of daylight hours in the year, which month of the year has the most sun, average annual temperature, the number of beaches/distance to the nearest beach, average annual rainfall and how windy the area is (km/h).

Manchester comes out on top as the least windy city in the UK, with an average wind speed of 15.8km per hour. So, whether you’re taking in the sights of the city or visiting Heaton Park (the biggest park in the North West at 600 acres) you can enjoy a calm, windless day out.
Other UK cities to visit if you’re looking to avoid a windy trip, include Wolverhampton in second place with an average wind speed of 17.93km per hour, and Birmingham securing third with 18.03km per hour.
Also making up the top five are Coventry with an average wind speed of 18.2km per hour, followed by London and Derby in joint fifth place with an average wind speed of 18.43km per hour.
Completing the top 10 are Reading in sixth place (18.53 km/h), Nottingham claiming the seventh spot (18.6 km/h), Sheffield is eighth (18.76 km/h), Bristol claims ninth position (18.83 km/h) and Leeds secures 10th place (18.9 km/h).
