Also in Lawrenceville, an exciting new restaurant, Titusz, is set to open its doors on 2 April. Chef Csilla Thackray, known for her work at Pittsburgh dining hotspots including The Vandal, Legume Bistro and Churchview Farm, will launch Titusz, a 49-seat concept spotlighting Austrian and Hungarian cuisine. Named after her great-grandfather, the restaurant will serve a refined yet heartfelt carte menu inspired by her Central European heritage, complemented by a drinks programme focused on wines and spirits from Austria, Hungary and the wider region.
Indulge in corner-slice pizza at La Grassa – Spring
La Grassa Pizza, another great spot in Lawrenceville, is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location on Butler Street this spring. Previously known for its pop-ups around the city, the concept has built a following for its ‘corner-only’ slices, featuring thick, crispy-edged squares. The new permanent space marks a next step for the brand, whose playful ‘your new favourite corner’ tagline nods to its signature offering.
Discover Rich Filipino cuisine at Amboy – Summer 2026
In Pittsburgh’s Northside, Amboy is also set to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant this summer. Led by chef Rafael Vencio, founder of Amboy Farms, a Pittsburgh-based urban agricultural project dedicated to growing Filipino produce and ingredients, the restaurant will spotlight contemporary Filipino cuisine. Rooted in tradition while reflecting Vencio’s personal experience as an immigrant, the menu will highlight distinctive ingredients and offer a modern interpretation of classic Filipino dishes.

Isaly’s, an iconic Pittsburgh brand dating back to the early 1900s and famed for its chipped ham sandwiches and nostalgic ice cream parlour, is set to return to the city’s foodie neighbourhood – the Strip District.. The brand is integral to the city’s identity and has been honoured at the Heinz History Center, where its sign is on display as a symbol of Pittsburgh’s culinary heritage.
Taste diary-free ice-cream at Leona’s Scoop Shop – now open
Leona’s Scoop Shop opened in Pittsburgh at the end of 2025, bringing its cult-favourite lactose-free ice cream to a shop. The female-owned business, founded in 2013 by partners Katie Heldstab and Christa Puskarich, has since built a loyal following for its small-batch ice cream sandwiches and pints made with locally sourced dairy. Known for its oversized, two-handed sandwiches and inventive flavours such as Lavender & Honeycomb and Black Sesame with Salted Tahini Chocolate Chunk, the new scoop shop is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth.

Joining Pittsburgh’s rapidly growing pizza scene, Penn Avenue Pizzas and Steaks has recently opened its doors in Lawrenceville, one of Pittsburgh’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, serving up classic New York-style pizzas alongside indulgent, cheese-loaded Philly cheesesteaks. The spot prides itself on quality and technique, using a 48-hour cold-fermented dough to create a light, flavourful base and makes for a great casual eatery.
