Ryanair Eyes Up Expansion into Egypt and Libya

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary says the low-cost airline is in talks with Egypt and Libya about operating flights to the countries

Ryanair’s Chief Executive, Michael O’Leary has confirmed that the budget airline is in talks with authorities in Egypt and Libya about operating flights to the countries.

This would be the first time the airline has operated in these countries.

Ryanair’s only flights outside of Europe currently are to and from Morocco, Israel and Jordan.

Speaking at a recent Eurocontrol event, Mr O’Leary said: “We’re talking to the Egyptians, the Libyans.”

Mr O’Leary also confirmed that Ryanair would be the first airline to return to Ukraine when it is safe to do so.
