Black Oak Casino Resort 

Work has begun on Elevate, a new family fun park at Black Oak Casino Resort, the park will entertain the whole family with fun activities, including batting cages, soft play for toddlers, a ninja warrior course, valo jump (an interactive trampoline game), Slam dunk basketball, dodge ball court, head-to-head airbag play, and ax throwing. There will also be over 40 game simulations for sports from basketball and baseball to tennis and golf. The park aims to bring the whole family together despite age differences and is ideal for both locals and those visiting the area.

The Historic Sonora Inn Gets a Facelift

An icon of Downtown Sonora, the Sonora Inn was built in 1896 and has hosted many celebrities including Grace Kelly and Drew Barrymore. The owner, Jeff Michels, plans to mix the old with the new as he gives the Sonora Inn a refresh whilst still preserving the iconic building’s historical feel. The architecture of the building will keep its 1920s California Mission Style while the rooms and social common areas will be refreshed with new paint, furniture, and subtle modern touches. In later phases of the renovation, Michels will add a café, co-working space, and a family activity recreation room will be added at a later date..

Downtown Sonora wins ‘Best City Getaway’ at Sunset Travel Awards
