Live Football Tickets can reveal that Sweden’s Olympia stadium is the most Instagrammed World Cup stadium, totalling 2,329,983 hashtags on Instagram to date. Originally used for the 1912 Olympic Games, it has a capacity of 17,200 and has no connection to the Olympic Games despite the name. Olympia hosted two FIFA World Cup matches and seven matches in FIFA Women’s World Cup 1995.

Ranking in second place for the most Instagrammable stadium is Spain’s Camp Nou stadium with 2,103,926 total hashtags on Instagram. Home to La Liga club FC Barcelona, it has the largest capacity in both Spain and the whole of Europe, whilst also placing as the third largest football stadium in the world.

The United Kingdom’s Old Trafford stadium in Manchester is the third most picturesque World Cup stadium obtaining 1,373,317 hashtags. This is the largest football stadium in the whole of the UK, and during the 1966 World Cup, the capacity exceeded 60,000.

Placing as the fourth most-loved World Cup stadium, Spain’s Santiago Bernabeu raked in a total of 741,094 Instagram hashtags. Home to the famous football team Real Madrid, it is the second-largest stadium in Spain and has recently undergone a redevelopment to allow the pitch to be used in all weather conditions and reduce noise pollution.

California’s Rose Bowl stadium, in the United States, is the fifth most beautiful stadium in the world securing 554,961 hashtags overall. Originally opened in 1922, the stadium is considered a national historic landmark and was first built in the shape of a horseshoe, but over the years it has been developed to create the full ‘bowl’ shape.

Despite the low number of hashtags for its stadiums, the 2023 Women’s World Cup is being hosted between Australia and New Zealand and has ignited excitement for women across the globe. Previous to the 24 teams, there will now be a total of 32 teams competing, replicating the men’s tournament format since 1998.
