Here are some exciting things taking place over the spooky season:
- Derry Halloween 2019, 25 October- 1 November, Derry~Londonderry. Stay in the Walled City of Derry~Londonderry and take part in the city’s eight-day long Halloween festival, which features over 100 events with 1,400 performers across 40 venues in and around the city and its famous 400-year-old walls.Halloween Ghost Trail & Jail of Horror, 11-31 October, Belfast. - Crumlin Road Gaol on this new Halloween Ghost Trail. As visitors make their way around the haunted building they will be treated to the eerie ghost stories that are threaded throughout 150 years of operation as a prison. Enter the off-limits dungeon of D Wing and face all your fears on an intense scare-packed journey which only has one way out.
- Ladies Night Goes to the Movies – Hocus Pocus, 29 October, Ballymena. Get together with friends at Galgorm’s Fratelli restaurant for an evening of Italian cuisine followed by a screening of the Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus.
- Halloween Monster Mash, 27 October, Belfast. With hauntingly good live music, creepy street theatre, wicked workshops and much more, this eerily good event at the Titanic Slipways is perfect for the whole family.
- Killowen Distillery – Halloween in the Mournes, 25-26 October, Killowen. Meet the spooky distillers at Killowen Distillery for some alcoholic and non-alcoholic ‘autumn warmers’, live spiritual traditional Irish music from a local musician and spooky story telling.
- Halloween Walking Tours of Derry City Cemetery, 26-31 October, Derry~Londonderry. Uncover the Walled City’s history through the carved aging headstones where bones have been laid to rest for over 300 years. Explore Irish traditions and their attitudes to mortality, death and grief.
- Attack of the Killer Bees Halloween Slemish Market Supper Club, 1 November, Ballymena . Join Slemish Market Supper Club for a Spooktacular evening of food, fun and a County Antrim ghoulish story at their “Attack of the Killer Bees” Halloween Slemish Market.
- Spooky Basement Experience, 26-28 October, Enniskillen. With lots of ghostly activities happening at Florence Court over the Halloween weekend, why not head out on the spooky outdoor trail or go on the creepy basement experience, if you dare.
- Spellbound Festival at Castle Espie Wetland Centre, 29-30 October, Comber. Join Castle Espie for some freaky family fun this Halloween: learn how to fly a broomstick, make magical potions in the woodland and enjoy some spooky storytelling sessions.
- Spooky Paws Walk the Walls, 24 October, Derry~Londonderry. Join in the Halloween celebrations by taking part in Rainbow Rehoming’s fancy dress dog walk around the city walls.
- Field of Screams, 25-30 October, Limavady. Visitors to the Causeway Coast and Glens region can enjoy a night of scary fun and adventure at Carrowmena Activity Centre.
- Wyrd Sisters, Larne, 31 October. Spend Halloween than listening to Larne Drama Circle present a reading of Terry Pratchett’s ‘Wyrd Sisters’ at the Larne Museum & Arts Centre.
- Zombie Run, 13 October, Magherafelt. This year’s course at the Jungle NI will be a challenging 6K obstacle run, complete with various ‘infected zones’ where you will be faced with the task of evading life stealing zombies!
- Twilight Market, 1 November, Newry. Autumn is upon us and Newry Market will be transformed into a food and drink heaven where visitors will be able to feast on some of the unique food and drink elements available in the region. There will be a wide selection of food and drink producers, pop-up restaurants, combined with chef demonstrations, food tastings, live music and full bar facilities.
- Spooky A-scare-ium, 26-27 October, Portaferry. Follow the trick or treat trail at Exploris this Halloween, but watch out for those pesky pirates who have captured all the treasure. Fancy dress is encouraged as the best dressed wins a £50 gift shop voucher with free annual pass.
- Fire and Light Wild Raven Walk, 31 October – 03 November, Hillsborough. Follow an immersive illuminated trail through Hillsborough Castle Gardens as part of this new evening experience for all the family. Meet some ghostly characters, listen out for the wild ravens and be amazed as the gardens are transformed into a magical world of sound and light.
