Live music on the island is full of energy, with outdoor concerts in Mallorca’s idyllic natural surroundings and indoor performances featuring dazzling lights and electrifying atmospheres.

Music festivals are particularly popular in Mallorca, inviting both local and international musicians to play, making the island a worldwide meeting point for music lovers.  For example, the Sons de Nit festival is a travelling festival that promotes social and environmental sustainability, guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It showcases a variety of national and international artists who perform in different Mallorcan municipalities, including Llucmajor, Pollença, and Palma and champions cultural diversity and heritage conservation through its event.

Classical music also has special significance in Mallorca, with performances from the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra taking place between September and May.

Visiting Mallorca during Holy Week in March is a fascinating experience that integrates religious customs with local culture. On 23rd June, Mallorca celebrates its most fiery festival: the Night of Sant Joan. The evening is full of excitement, with raucous sounds, torches, and bonfires creating a magical atmosphere. Alongside these festivities, there are other activities, such as jumping over waves to purify the soul. Whilst attending, visitors can also sample a delicious range of Mediterranean cuisine.

Art 

Mallorca is a true paradise for art lovers, with a kaleidoscopic arts scene across the island, from striking galleries to world-class museums. There are specialised tours which showcase artisanal products, such as pottery, as seen on the Ruta del Fang (Clay Route) in Marratxí. This tour allows visitors to see workshops various clay utensils are crafted, along with the Museum of Fang.

A standout event in Mallorca is Nit de L’Art, which combines the talent of artists and gallery owners in Palma during the third week of September. The city’s old town becomes an open-air exhibition of artworks, complemented by free entry to museums and galleries at night.

Gastronomy 

The gastronomic richness of Mallorca is internationally recognised, both for its products’ quality and the island’s exquisite traditional recipes. Throughout the year, various fairs and events occur in Mallorca, such as Be Palma, held between late April and early May, showcasing culinary offerings at over 10 stalls.

TaPalma is an annual tapas and cocktail contest in Mallorca that brings together the best culinary talents of the island. Held every November, it is a must-visit event for tourists and locals who want to enjoy Mallorca’s iconic dishes.
