Celebrate Chelsea with Alternative Virtual Flower Shows

With the Chelsea Flower Show taking place virtually this week, why not also check out three of Canada's most popular flower shows, which have also taken on a virtual feel for 2020

Transport yourself to a virtual flower show in Ontario, Canada! With the Chelsea Flower Show taking place virtually this week, why not also check out three of Canada’s most popular flower shows, which have also taken on a virtual feel for 2020.

Canada Bloom Festival

Chelsea Flower Show sadly isn’t the only garden show to be cancelled this spring. One of Canada’s largest flower and garden shows, Canada Bloom Festival, was cancelled back in March. But, fret not, as viewers can take a look at this year’s gardens, which carried the theme of ‘Birds of a Feather,’ incorporating both bird imagery and the concept of similarities between people, plants and insects.

Canadian Tulip Festival

This vibrant festival in Ottawa runs each May to celebrate the gift of tulips from the Dutch Royal Family to the Canadians following the Second World War. For 2020 the festival has taken on a virtual approach, with online visitors able to stroll through the city’s Commissioners Park thanks to an interactive garden map, where they can discover the different type of tulips found in the park’s 26 beds. Aside from the tulips, the festival has a number of performances and videos on its TulipTV YouTube Channel to keep keen gardeners entertained.

Niagara Parks Floral Showcase

Orchid lovers will take delight at a look inside the annual Floral Showcase, where a group of talented horticulturalists have created the show’s first ever spring Orchid garden.
