Advantage Travel Warns that British Passport Holders Could be Negatively Affected by Post-Brexit Rules

"Our ability to travel frictionlessly has been taken away" says CEO of The Advantange Travel Partnership

Julia Lo Bue-Said, CEO of The Advantage Travel Partnership, said: “The reports that an estimated 32 million British passport holders could potentially be negatively affected by post-Brexit rules on passport validity when travelling to the EU is yet another example of the major impact that Brexit has had. Our ability to travel frictionlessly has been taken away. The issues relating to the validity of passports has resulted in British and European travellers having to spend an extortionate amount of money on passports and getting caught out on passport validity rules which prevent them from taking holidays that they have already paid for.
“The UK Government needs to focus its attention on is ensuring there is accurate and easily available information on passport rules and we as an industry need to ensure that we are helping customers identify potential issues as early as possible. This is yet another reason why we would advise booking through a travel agent. Travel agents deal with travel all day every day and are best placed to give the most up to date advice and information to travellers. If you have already booked travel through an agent and are concerned about your passport validity, we would recommend getting in touch with them before departure.”
