Several blistering heatwaves are forecast for this summer and with most Brits unable to bear the heat (even at night!), which UK location will keep us coolest to aid a restful sleep?
To find out, TheDozyOwl.co.uk utilised Met Office climate data to establish the coolest UK locations based on variables such as average temperature, windspeed and rainfall. *
Spokesperson for TheDozyOwl.co.uk, Walton Holcomb, comments:
“It is widely known that body temperature naturally decreases towards the evening. This signifies that your body is getting ready to rest and recharge. The time in which this happens for each person differs, so it is always best to listen to your own body to naturally aid the process.
To further support the sleep cycle, we can adjust the temperature of the room where we doze and, by keeping it cool throughout the night, we can ensure a long and rested sleep. If the body temperature rises, then this sleep will become disrupted. This explains why temperature can have such a vast impact on rest, particularly throughout the warmer summer months.”
