Good news for those planning to travel to Spain on holiday next week -Spanish air traffic controllers have called off a planned three-day strike that would have halted flights and hit thousands of UK travellers.
The controllers’ union UNSCA postponed the strike over pay and conditions following pressure from Spain’s tourism industry, which called on the government to take action to avert the crisis.
However, the dispute remains unresolved after talks between the union and airports authority broke down last Friday – and the threat of strikes remains from September.
