Sales Up As Operator Launches Brochure

Superbreak has added 12 new hotels, new theatre break packages, new concerts, events, and much more – to its second edition brochure due with travel agents from August 6.

The new brochure launch comes at a time when the operator reports sales are starting to strengthen, perhaps partly due to the more changeable weather, says the company.

Sales growth through travel agents for UK hotel breaks was flat year-on-year for the period May-June 2010, according to Superbreak, but the first three weeks of July showed an upturn, with growth of six per cent. This is on the back of a 17 per cent increase in bookings for UK breaks over these three months for 2009 against 2008.

Ian Mounser, Sales Director at Superbreak commented: “Our sales during July suggest that demand for UK breaks is strengthening if anything, following a really good summer for us last year too.

“This also indicates that the recent changeable weather is in fact more likely to stimulate short breaks taking than the hot, better weather we had in June. UK breaks are easy to book at the last minute, plus people will always think of breaks to celebrate special occasions.”

New hotels featured include the four star Big Blue Hotel in Blackpool, the four star City Inn Tower of London while stage shows featured inlcude The Wizard of Oz with the BBC’s Dorothy winner Danielle Hope starring.
