America’s Most Wanted: Destinations

After compiling search data from the first six months of 2009 and 2010, the UK’s leading website in flight search and comparison has come out with its 2010 North American Rising Star Report.

The list ranks the 75 most frequently searched destinations according to their change in popularity over 2009.

Georgetown, Grand Cayman, tops the Cheapflights’ North American Rising Star Report, followed by Belize City, Belize, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, underscoring the British love of finding a the next great sunny escape. In fourth place is Winnipeg Canada and in fifth Honolulu, Hawaii.

“Clearly, hot destinations are the hot spots for travel this year,” says Nadine Hallak, Travel Expert for Cheapflights.co.uk

“As the economy bounces back, travellers are looking to take slightly longer breaks that still have cost saving benefits. So where better to head than long haul destinations for a truly relaxing holiday where sunshine is guaranteed, and you get more bang for your buck,” she added.
