Family-friendly Fermanagh

I FELL in love with Fermanagh all over again when we spent an utterly delightful recent family holiday at Belle Isle Estate in dry spring weather.

Well, it was MOSTLY dry, So-called climate change has not yet disproved the following adage which still has a ring of eternal truth: "For six months of the year the lakes are in Fermanagh and for the other six, Fermanagh is in the lakes…"

Nice is even nicer at this time of the year

OUI, mes amis, NICE has never been Nicer. The Queen of the French Riviera really comes into its own around this time of year when many of us are looking for a short, frost-free winter break direct from Belfast or Dublin.

Low-cost travel to Nice-Cote d'Azur Airport not only leaves us with lots of lolly to spend on the distinctively different shopping and superlative restaurants of the Riviera, but also on really good accommodation at low-season prices in Nice, Cannes and nearby villages.

Tyrone Good Food Circle Guide

AS A GREEDYGUTS on a personal mission to eat my way around this tasty little country of ours, I'm delighted to give a welcome to the second - much expanded - edition of the Tyrone Good Food Circle Guide. It has nearly doubled in size, featuring an appetising selection of 14 great places to eat in every corner of the county, from Strabane and Fivemiletown to Dungannon, Omagh and the aptly-named Cookstown. It also has listings of producers and purveyors of the freshest, most flavoursome fare to be found in local Farmers Markets.
