NEW YORK AND BERMUDA - THE PERFECT COMBINATION

SIMON THOMAS O’NEILL from Oasis Travel had the pleasure of travelling to New York and Bermuda…

New York and Bermuda are unique destinations and are the perfect combination as New York is so busy and Bermuda is the perfect place to chill and unwind.

New York is so diverse, making it a melting pot of all its diverse cultures and districts. Whilst Bermuda has the most stunning scenery and very hospitable genuinely nice people who are proud of their heritage. They also have famous pink sand beaches! New York and Bermuda really should be at the top of every discerning traveller’s wish list.

I departed from Dublin Airport’s new terminal 2, and had pre-booked the business lounge - go on treat yourself. I cleared customs and immigration in Dublin in 15 minutes which is a big bonus. On arrival in New York I transferred to The Beacon Hotel – Upper West Side. The journey is 30 minutes.

This was a fabulous place to stay and it is only one metro stop from Times Square which you reach in 10 minutes. The next few days were spent shopping, sightseeing, dining in fabulous locations. Who wouldn’t want to sip a cocktail in a revolving restaurant looking over the Manhattan skyline at night? Right?

On day 4 - I headed off on a 1 hour 45-minute flight to Bermuda, upon arrival we were whisked away to our beautiful Hotel – Cambridge Beaches where we settled in and enjoyed lunch which was amazing. The attention to service and detail is amazing. I then walked around the beautiful gardens and later that evening enjoyed a sumptuous dinner.

During my stay, I hopped on the local buses and toured the Island. Bermuda is a paradise island, famed for its pink beaches as mentioned earlier. The island is very interesting and full of culture and history.

One of my main highlights here was relaxing on the beautiful beach and conjuring up memories of the most amazing time I had in New York and the feeling of calm, tranquillity and sophistication of this paradise island.

Please put New York and Bermuda on your travel hit list – you will not be disappointed.
