No Business Like Snow Business for Stena

The latest research from ABTA shows that 29 per cent of people are planning to take a winter holiday this year and with bookings up 16 per cent on last year, it's no wonder that leading ferry company Stena Line has high hopes for its brand new day trip to Snow Factor at intu Braehead which is the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope.

Ryanair Blames Sterling and Brexit for Fall in Profits

In Ryanair's results for the third quarter, released today, the airline has reported an eight per cent fall in profits from from 103 million Euro to 95 million Euro for the same period last year.

Meanwhile average fares fell by 17 per cent, while traffic grew 16 per cent to 29 million customers.



Six in a Row for Blue at Irish Industry Awards

Blue Insurance, Ireland's leading online insurance provider, won the award for Best Travel Insurance Provider at the recent 2017 Irish Travel Industry Awards.

Blue Insurance, who experienced significant growth in their business in both Ireland and UK during 2016, have now won this prestigious award six years in a row.



Big Increase in Dublin's January Passengers

January passenger numbers at Dublin Airport increased by nine per cent to almost 1.9 million.

Passenger volumes to and from continental Europe grew by seven per cent with almost 873,000 passengers travelling to European destinations.



Everybody Goes Free Irish Sea Offer

The drive to win passenger traffic between here and Britain has moved up a gear with the announcement by Irish Ferries of what it terms an 'Everybody Free' motorist offer that sees charges being made only for the car involved, with all accompanying passengers, including driver, travelling absolutely free-of-charge, up to a limit of six persons.

Said by their Head of Passenger Sales, Dermot Merrigan to be 'one of the most compelling offers Irish Ferries has ever made', the arrangement kicks-in with immediate effect and will be applicable on all bookings made until February 21, for travel until  May 26  inclusive, on cruise and fast ferry sailings from Dublin to Holyhead and also Rosslare to Pembroke.



Fundraising Battle Goes On for Aundrea's Army

Support for local Thomas Cook Manager, Aundrea Bannatyne in her battle against cancer is as strong as ever.

Aundrea Bannatyne (42), a travel agent with Thomas Cook in Belfast, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and told she had less than a year to live.

The Home Office has changed its rules for renewing UK passports, making the process a lot simpler and easier.

Passport applications can be a slow process, from manually filling out lengthy forms to finding the nearest photobooth to take that strict picture.



Ryanair Warns it Could Ban Second Cabin Bag

Ryanair has threatened to go back on its relaxed cabin baggage policy because it is affecting the airline's quick turnaround procedures.

Chief Executive Michael O'Leary has warned that the airline could ban passengers from carrying two free bags onboard its aircraft as passengers are reportedly flouting the cabin baggage policy - by packing too much into them...
