Seat Sale to Canadian Cities Launched

Air Transat, the award-winning Canadian leisure airline, has a Seat Sale on its flights from Dublin to Canada for travel in 2017.

Bookings must be made by January 30 to take advantage of Seat Sale fares for selected travel dates in 2017. Flights from Dublin to Toronto and Montreal operate from April 18 to October 27 inclusive with an increased connecting service during the summer months. In-flight hot meals and a generous luggage allowance are included in all flights.



Big Increase in NI Business for Asia Specialists

Wendy Wu Tours as seen a 128 per cent increase in passenger numbers from Northern Ireland since January 1, 2016 compared to 2015.

The most popular destinations for Irish travellers were China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan and India.



Airport Launches £30,000 Search for Best Local Food/Drink

George Best Belfast City Airport has partnered with Food NI and all local councils to launch the search for Northern Ireland's Best local food and drink product - offering a staggering prize of £30,000 free marketing support and brand visibility at the airport for the winner.

The competition is open to food and drink producers based across Northern Ireland, with the £30,000 prize including £20,000 of branding on site at Belfast City Airport and £10,000 of online support through the airport's digital channels.



Airline Releases Guides for Those Travelling with Autism

Aer Lingus has launched visual guides online to help prepare people with autism and similar conditions for air travel, in partnership with the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support at Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia.

The guides contain a series of slides that walk the viewer through all the steps involved in preparing for and experiencing air travel, and they are intended to ease anxieties surrounding flying for individuals with autism.



Tour America Winner of Blue Insurance Draw

Ross Waters from Tour America, Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1 is the winner of the Blue Insurance Polo Magnifico December draw.

'Polo Magnifico', in association with Ireland's Largest Volkswagen Dealership, Frank Keane Volkswagen, started in April 2016 and runs until March 2017.



Vast Majority of BA Flights Unaffected by Strike

British Airways says it has cancelled a small number of short haul services from Heathrow due to the proposed three-day strike by its mixed fleet cabin crew due to start at 0.01am this Thursday.

BA claims it will operate 99 per cent of its total scheduled programme during a three-day strike by members of the trade union Unite.

Three Airlines in Frame for New US Service

Economy Minister Simon Hamilton MLA has described the ending of the United Airlines' service from Belfast International to New York (Newark) yesterday as "deeply regrettable".

But affirmed he is working together with Belfast International Airport on new options and is pressing ahead with plans to establish a new Air Routes Task Force in the coming weeks.



Belfast International Now UK's Fifth Busiest Airport

Belfast International is now officially the fifth busiest airport in the United Kingdom for domestic passenger traffic.

The airport's status was confirmed by the Civil Aviation Authority in its report on airport and passenger activity during 2016.

Brenda Morgan is one of more than 100 Northern Ireland people recognised in the New Year's Honours List.

Brenda, of British Airways, was awarded the MBE in the Honours List for her "Contribution to the Northern Ireland Economy".
