Cruise Line's Belfast Departures Get the Axe

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, the pioneers of cruising programmes direct from Belfast in recent years, has decided to withdraw its Belfast departures, with effect from the 2018/19 cruise season.

The company has been offering departures from Belfast since 2013 and blames the decision on insufficient numbers of local cruisers wishing to take the home port option.

Sky's the Limit for New Icelandair Service

The sky could literally be the limit for the new three times weekly Belfast-Reykjavik service which began last Thursday.

Half of the passengers on board the first incoming flight from the Icelandic capital were North Americans, a figure which bodes well for Icelandair's strategy in selling the route, not just as a point to point service, but as a gateway to 18 destinations in the US and Canada.
