Singapore Airlines' first class passengers will be able to travel in a mini-apartment from next month.

The carrier's latest first class concept has been unveiled and is designed to rival that offered by Etihad, with a full-size bed in each of six cabins that will feature on refitted Airbus A380s.



Toronto Transitions to Air Canada mainline from Air Canada Rouge

This week Air Canada's Dublin to Toronto service made the transition to Air Canada mainline from Air Canada Rouge.

Air Canada flight AC843, operated by an Airbus A330-300, offers customers a three-cabin service: Economy, Premium Economy and International Business Class.



Flybe Supports Local Developing Managers Programme

Five organisations from across Northern Ireland have been given a boost to their managerial development at the Ulster University Business School thanks to a bursary package provided by Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline.

All five have enrolled on the Developing Managers Programme which will provide participants with an Advanced Diploma in Management Practice and comprises a 12-month programme including residential induction, a regional study visit and six study modules.

In Europe's Interest to Strike a Deal on Free Travel

A deal on free travel across Europe after Brexit is as vital to EU countries as it is to the UK, according to a new tourism study which shows that the Continent could lose as much as £33 billion if no deal is struck.

For example, UK visitors to Spain are worth £12 billion alone representing 26 per cent of the total expenditure and are the biggest contributor to the Spanish economy.

Tour Operator Hosts Two Events in One Day for Trade

Leading tour operator Jet2holidays held two events on the same day for local travel agents in Belfast's Bullitt Hotel last week.

The daytime event was a VIP lunch sponsored by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation hosted by Alan Cross, Nikki McGuire and Chris Redfern of Jet2holidays with 18 principals from the company's top agencies in Northern Ireland attending.



Belfast City Treat Agents to Spa Day at Galgorm

George Best Belfast City Airport reinforced its relationship with its airline partners and the Northern Ireland Travel trade recently by treating members of the industry to a luxurious spa day.

The event, which included a pampering session at the 4-start Galgorm Resort and Spa followed by lunch, provided the airport with the opportunity to provide trade and airline representatives with all the up to date information regarding its routes, airlines, products and services, while thanking them for their support over the last number of years.



Cruise Agents Meet Royal Caribbean's New Sales Director

Royal Caribbean travel agency partners got the chance to meet Amanda Darrington, the new Royal Caribbean Sales Director for the UK and Ireland at a dinner in the recently opened Titanic Hotel in Belfast.

Also present were Jennifer Callister, RCI's Head of Ireland, and other members of the leading cruise line's team.
