Westminster Report Gives Anti-APD Tax a Boost

Belfast International airport says the report by the Westminster Northern Ireland Affairs Committee on Air Passenger Duty (APR) and VAT on tourism gives the campaign to do away with the passenger tax a significant boost.

The Committee called on the Northern Ireland Executive to re-examine the economic case for abolishing APD on flights and seek the full devolution of the power.



Airline's Belfast Summer Seats Top Three Million Mark

Low cost airline easyJet has added over 155,000 summer seats from Belfast to London, Malaga, Alicante, Faro, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Palma, Ibiza and Split taking the total number of easyJet seats available from Belfast over the summer (between March 26 and October 28) for the first time ever to over three million.

The airline continues to see strong growth at Belfast and now has an unrivalled network of 28 destinations including a new service to Dubrovnik which launches on May 14, 2017.

New Business Class cabin in American's Dublin Services

From April 13, the world’s largest airline will resume seasonal services from Dublin Airport (DUB) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), featuring a new Business Class cabin.

The service, operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft will feature 16 fully lie-flat Business Class seats arranged in a two-by-two configuration, plus personal Samsung Galaxy tablets.

BA Parent Launches Low-Cost Long-Haul Carrier

British Airways' parent International Airlines Group (IAG) has announced plans to launch a new low-cost long-haul airline brand flying transatlantic services from Spain.

Named LEVEL, the carrier will operate from June and go from Barcelona to Los Angeles, San Francisco (Oakland), Buenos Aires and Punta Cana.



Houston Route Via Manchester Featured at Fitzwilliam

There was a good turnout of almost 50 agents at an event hosted jointly by Singapore Airlines, Manchester Airport and Flybe in Belfast's Fitzwilliam Hotel last Thursday.

Isle of Man Route Up and Running Again

Eastern Airways yesterday began a new service from Belfast City to the Isle of Man.

The UK regional airline has introduced a new daily return service to the Isle of Man with onward connection to Newcastle.
