Warmer Cruising Campaign Cuts a Cool 40 per cent

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines launched its new 'Warmer Cruising' campaign yesterday, offering guests up to 40 per cent off a selection of 32 tempting cruises between October 2017 and March 2018, on bookings made up to October 18, 2017 inclusive.

Durations vary from 46 nights to shorter breaks of three and five nights - the perfect 'taster' cruise for those taking a holiday at sea for the very first time.

Castle Ward Festival a Must for Thrones Fans

Local Game of Thrones fans can relive some of their favourite scenes at a new Winterfell Festival next month.

The one-day festival, run by the UK National Trust on September 24, will be held at 820-acre Castle Ward estate, near Strangford, the property which filled in for 'Winterfell' - the ancestral home of the Stark family for most of season one of the series.

Thomas Cook Manager's Funeral on Monday

The local Travel Trade is expected to turn out in force for the funeral this coming Monday of local Thomas Cook Manager Aundrea Bannatyne who sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this week.

Thomas Cook Cluster Manager Aundrea was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year, and since then support group Aundrea's Army and others have tirelessly fundraised over the past year to help pay her medical bills.

Ryanair Files Complaint After Air Berlin Insolvency

Ryanair has lodged competition complaints in Germany and with the European Commission accusing the German Government, Lufthansa and Air Berlin of a 'manufactured insolvency' of Air Berlin.

In a statement, the low-cost airline claims there is an 'obvious conspiracy' being played out in Germany between the German Government, Lufthansa and Air Berlin to 'carve up Air Berlin's assets, while excluding major competitors and ignoring both EU competition and State Aid rules’.

A new £15 million cruise ship terminal at Belfast Harbour is one step closer to being a reality as a planning application - submitted last year for a “multi-purpose facility for berthing of cruise ships” - is scheduled to be discussed by Belfast City Council next week...

Qatar Eases Visitor Entry Restrictions

UK tourists are among those from a total of 80 countries who no longer need a visa to travel to Qatar following a sudden change in the country's policy.
