Norwegian Set to Take Off From Belfast

Belfast International Airport will have a replacement service New York service in the next few months - if things go according to plan.

Low cost airline Norwegian, which recently acquired an operating licence for services from Shannon and Cork to the US, will begin flying a new route from BIAL to the Big Apple. A service to Boston is also planned.

More Details of December Flight to New York

Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have released more information about the launch of the company's first ever flight to New York from Belfast International Airport on Thursday, December 14 this year.

Belfast-Birmingham Flights Go On Sale

EasyJet, Europe's leading airline and Northern Ireland's biggest carrier, yesterday put its flights from Belfast to Birmingham on sale. They are available on the easyJet website from £24.49 one way including all taxes.

Flights will operate up to three times daily between the two cities including early morning, lunchtime and a late evening departure.

New Names and Faces Light up the Show

There's no business like show business for Edmund Hourican and Maureen Ledwith, the dynamic couple behind the Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show which last weekend celebrated twenty five years as Northern Ireland's favourite annual celebration of travel.

The show, staged in the Titanic Exhibition Centre, was at its sparkling and exuberant best for its silver anniversary, with attendance up by 10 per cent and hundreds of exhibitors showcasing destinations, venues and travel services at home and abroad.

Change Necessary on Holiday Claims - ABTA

ABTA has called for overseas holiday claims up to £25,000 to be brought under the same fixed recoverable legal costs regime that currently applies to other personal injury claims.

The call is contained in the Association's submission to the Lord Justice Jackson Review Panel, which is considering further reforms to the UK's civil justice regime.

Princess Cruises and Irish Ferries Order New Ships

Princess Cruises has announced it has placed an order for its sixth 'Royal' class vessel. The 3,560-guest ship, as yet to be named, is expected for delivery in 2022.

The ship will feature the signature elements that have become synonymous with the Princess guest experience such as a central atrium hub with multiple dining, entertainment and retail venues; Movies Under the Stars with the largest outdoor screen at sea; and 81 percent of all staterooms with balconies.

UK Travellers Must Have Visa-Free Access to EU After Brexit

The Government must make it possible for travel businesses to continue to operate in the EU, and for UK travellers to have visa-free travel in the EU after Brexit, according to Alan Wardle, ABTA's Director of Public Affairs.

Responding to Prime Minister Theresa May's speech yesterday, he said: "The EU is the main market for UK travel companies and in its negotiations the Government must make it possible for travel businesses to continue to operate in the EU. People want to continue to easily holiday and conduct business meetings in the EU.
