New Oasis Cruise Operation Opens at End of Month

Oasis Travel is opening a dedicated cruise business in the Knock Travel premises it acquired last month from owner Doreen McKenzie.

The Northern Ireland Cruise Centre will be on the top floor of the building and will begin trading by the end of June.

Thomas Cook Reports Strong Summer Demand

Thomas Cook is reporting strong summer demand for Greece, Cyprus, Croatia and Bulgaria but a more 'competitive' UK market to the Spanish islands where bookings have levelled off.

Announcing its interim results, Thomas Cook said: "As we highlighted previously, our UK business is managing through a more competitive market to the Spanish islands, focusing on selling higher margin, quality holidays rather than pursuing volume growth.

Limited Language Skills of the British Traveller

The average British holidaymaker will head off abroad on their summer holidays, able to speak just eight words of the local language, according to a new research.

The study, commissioned by Holiday Autos, found that French is the language UK holidaymakers are most familiar with, with the average UK adult being able to rattle off up to 15 words.
