Records Tumble Again at Belfast International

Belfast International Airport has reported its sixth successive month of record passenger figures.

The news coincides with the start of the Ryanair service to the major Catalan city of Girona, which is the airline's eleventh international route from the main Northern Ireland airport.

Holidaymakers Fail to Play Their Cards Right

Holidaymakers are risking unexpected charges and additional fees as well as missing out on important legal protection by not making the most of their credit and debit cards overseas, new research from financial research experts Consumer Intelligence shows.

Its study found two out of three holidaymakers (67 per cent) use credit or debit cards for spending on holiday but just two out of five (43 per cent) remember being offered the option to pay in sterling or the local currency.

Big Plans for Ireland's only Theme Park and Zoo

Tayto Park, Ireland's only theme park and zoo, has launched its new 2017 season with the news that a whopping 25 per cent of visitors to the County Meath park now travel from Northern Ireland.

As one of the most popular attractions on the island of Ireland, Tayto Park visitor numbers have risen year on year from 330,000 in 2011 to 762,351 in 2016, which means that almost 200,000 thrill seekers from Northern Ireland visited the park last year.

Set for Busiest Easter in Airline's History

Low cost airline easyJet will welcome over 2.4 million passengers on its flights over the Easter holidays (April 1 – April 17) in what is set to be the busiest Easter getaway in the airline's history.

Numbers will peak on Good Friday, April 14 when almost 250,000 passengers are expected to fly on 1,628 flights across the network.

Dublin Airport has been named one of the best 10 airports in the world, according to a new international survey based on passenger ratings.

Republic Will Not Introduce Electronics Ban

The Republic of Ireland is not following the electronics ban announced recently by the USA and the UK.

This means that the popular daily Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Dublin are not affected by the ban on devices larger than an iphone 6 or Galaxy note in the aircraft cabin, whereas the airline's flights from Turkey to the UK are affected.

Airline's Belfast Summer Seats Top Three Million Mark

Low cost airline easyJet has added over 155,000 summer seats from Belfast to London, Malaga, Alicante, Faro, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Palma, Ibiza and Split taking the total number of easyJet seats available from Belfast over the summer (between March 26 and October 28) for the first time ever to over three million.

The airline continues to see strong growth at Belfast and now has an unrivalled network of 28 destinations including a new service to Dubrovnik which launches on May 14, 2017.

Making Sure You Know New Rules on Airline Security

ABTA says they are making it a priority to make sure incoming travellers into the UK are aware of the new rules governing security and what you can now take or not take on board an aircraft.

The Department for Transport has advised that passengers on inbound flights to the UK from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia, will have to check any phones, laptops and tablets larger than a standard smartphone (specifically: Length: 16.0cm, Width: 9.3cm, Depth: 1.5cm) into checked baggage.

American Resumes Dublin Services to the US

From April 13, the world’s largest airline will resume seasonal services from Dublin Airport (DUB) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), featuring a new Business Class cabin. The service, operated by a Boeing 757-200 aircraft will feature 16 fully lie-flat Business Class seats arranged in a two-by-two configuration, plus personal Samsung Galaxy tablets.

Business Class customers will also enjoy American's enhanced International premium cabin menus, designed in partnership with world renowned chefs Mark Sargeant and Maneet Chauhan.
