Bullitt's New Rooftop Bar and Garden Opens Soon

As Belfast's Bullitt Hotel approaches its first anniversary, the hotel has announced that its brand new rooftop bar and garden Babel will be opening on October 20 as part of the hotel's planned £1.75m expansion.

Work is progressing fast on Phase II of Bullitt, which will also see 31 new bedrooms being added this year including the hotel's first twin rooms.

Belfast Service Still on the Radar for Turkish Airlines

A future Belfast-Istanbul air service is still on the radar, according to Turkish Airlines Manager for Ireland Hasan Mutlu speaking in Belfast to Northern Ireland Travel News.

The General Manager Ireland for the world's biggest airline - in terms of destinations served - was attending a Tourism Authority of Thailand/Turkish Airlines' roadshow at the Merchant Hotel attended by more than 60 local travel agents.

Added Extra Economy Ticket Option from Thomas Cook Airlines

Thomas Cook Airlines has added an extra economy ticket option that allows passengers to have priority boarding, increased luggage allowance and free in-flight drinks.

The new ticket, called Economy PLUS, is available on short and medium-haul flights departing from November 1.

New Motorsports Centre Puts Coalisland and Tyrone on the Map

Preparatory work has now begun on an international motorsport centre of excellence that is set to deliver huge economic benefits and put Northern Ireland on the global racing map.

An estimated 700 jobs will be created in the 18-month construction phase of the £30m Lake Torrent development which will transform 163 acres of former clay pits in Coalisland, County Tyrone, into a world-class motorsport complex with a championship racetrack and motorsport training centre for Northern Ireland.

Low cost airline easyJet has put its flights for spring and early summer 2018 on the market meaning that thousands of flights from Belfast are now on sale up until June 24, 2018.

More than 8002 easyJet flights are set to take place to and from Belfast International Airport between March 25, 2018 and June 24, 2018 providing more than 1342188 seats for Northern Ireland passengers to enjoy their spring getaways.

Ryanair Passengers Pay Twice After Cancellations

Some Ryanair passengers who re-booked flights after the airline announced mass cancellations have reported having to pay again if they had chosen to pick seats or take hold luggage.

The travellers who were offered "free" replacement flights discovered they were not refunded for charges on extras paid on their original booking, leaving them having to pay twice.

Ryanair Publishes Full List of Cancellations

Ryanair is cancelling 40-50 flights every day for the next six weeks, after it admitted it had "messed up" the planning of pilot holidays - and has published the full list of cancellations on their website..

Flights from Belfast International do not seem to be affected, however flights from Dublin and Knock are on the cancellation lists.

Consumer Council Provides Advice for Ryanair Passengers Affected by Cancellations

The Consumer Council, the statutory body representing air passengers flying in and out of Northern Ireland, is providing up to date advice to those impacted by Ryanair's decision to cancel flights.

Scott Kennerley, Head of Transport at The Consumer Council, advises: "Passengers who have been affected by Ryanair's decision to cancel flights should be offered a full refund, or re-routing via alternative transportation at the earliest opportunity.

Consternation and Confusion as Ryanair Cancels Hundreds of Flights

Ryanair has blamed increased holiday requirements for its decision to cancel hundreds of flights, and denies it has shortage of pilots.

The airline says it is cancelling around 50 flights a day for the next six weeks across its network in a bid to improve punctuality and to allocate leave to staff.
