Blue Insurance Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards
Wow Factor Promised for 25th Anniversary Awards
If ever there was A Night to Remember, it will be the 25th Silver Anniversary of the Blue Insurance Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards in the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa on Friday, October 21!
For the past 24 years, the prestigious Awards ceremony has been attended by over 400 decision-makers from all sectors of the travel and tourism industry, while the Awards themselves have become a coveted symbol of success among industry peers.
There will be 29 Awards presented on the evening, which cover all sectors of the travel and tourism industry and are voted for by both the public and travel trade.
Said Northern Ireland Travel News' Jonathan Adair: "Over the years we have tried to set the bar higher and higher, but this year's Awards gala will definitely be an event in keeping with such a special occasion. There will certainly be a 'wow factor' in almost every aspect of the evening. We don't want to give too much away at this stage suffice to say that the 25th Awards definitely should not be missed.
"There will be surprises, innovations and changes that will make the event a really magical and memorable evening. We are intent on making the 25th gala a really, really special occasion that will long be remembered by anyone lucky enough to be there.”
Ciaran Mulligan of headline sponsors Blue Insurance said: “Blue Insurance are delighted be involved once again as headline sponsor for the Northern Ireland Travel Trade News Awards and especially this year given that it's the 25th Year of the Awards. These Travel Industry Awards in the unique setting of the Slieve Donard Hotel are by far the best and most professionally run in the Travel Industry. We look forward to celebrating this special 25th Anniversary awards night with our colleagues and friends across the Travel Industry from Ireland and the UK."
Vital to the planning and success of the Awards are the sponsors, and this year is no exception. In fact their backing is even more crucial this time around, given that this is the 25th Anniversary gala. Therefore the organisers are delighted to have secured the backing of two new sponsors, Hastings Hotels, and Tourism Ireland, in addition to the Headline Sponsor Blue Insurance and continuing backing from five other category sponsors from last year - Stena Line, British Airways, Belfast International Airport, Blue Insurance and Amadeus.
The Slieve Donard Resort and Spa - formerly the Slieve Donard Hotel - has been a popular venue for the Awards for all its 25 years, a time in which the Slieve's staff have served up more than 10,000 meals to Travel and Tourism winners, nominees and guests. Another 450 meals will be served on October 21 as for the first time the Awards gala is a sell-out before the tickets have even officially gone on sale.
"This is the first time there are no tickets left at the time of the Awards launch," said Brian Ogle of Northern Ireland Travel News. The demand to be at the 25th has been unprecedented. That is not to say there won't be a few cancellations or drop-outs nearer the time, but almost six months away from the gala all the seats have already gone. This demonstrates more than anything what a success the Awards have become.”
